Round Oak Table on Cross Base

This oak table is a great example of a traditional look being revised for modern spaces. Natural oak is a classic and set on this single cross pedestal base, it takes on a modern vibe.

The table is 54" in diameter. The finished top is about 30” above the floor. This is a good size for 4-6 people

The table top is made of solid oak. Oak is a hardwood which means that it won't easily be damaged by using the table. This table is just under 2” thick. It has a traditional square edge.

The base for this table is also made of solid oak. This particular style of base where the square U shapes cross in the middle is called a Baker base.

The wood has been finished with an all-natural oil. We hand rub this oil into the wood. It adheres to the individual fibres, instead of just sitting on top, to create durable matte finish. This finish was originally developed for hardwood floors so it is strong enough to stand up to daily use.
