Quick Points
- A Classic shape that can seat a lot of people
- Available as an extension table

What sorts of spaces Rectangles are good for?
Most dining tables are rectangle shaped. These tables work well in spaces that are longer than they are wide, which is typically the shape of most dining rooms.
How they can be used?
A rectangle dining table is an efficient way to seat people at the table. Typically you have one person at each end and a variable number of people on each side, depending on the length of the table. They also make good use of the space in the middle of the table, whether you eat your meals plated, family style, or buffet style.
How they compare to Ovals?
Rectangular tables and oval tables both fit into similar spaces. The main difference is that an oval is more organic in shape while a rectangle lets us use the corners. Corners are great for squeezing in an extra person or two, while the organic shape can improve the flow of your space.
How Do Rectangle tables compare to squares?
Square and rectangle table both have full corners. A square table though is particularly well suited to a space with similar width and length, or at least a space that functions like a square if you have other furniture, like a buffet.
They can be extension tables?
A rectangle table can be a standard table or it can be made into an extension table. Both our end extension tables and our center extension tables work well as rectangles and give you the option of making the table bigger for special occasions.
