Pantone's highly-anticipated “Color of the Year” announcement has informed choices in every design industry for years. Home design and decor is no exception! But Pantone is just one of the many voices in the crowd, so let’s also take a look at the colors that Sherwin-Williams and Benjamin Moore are advocating for in 2026.
Pantone’s Cloud Dancer, Sherwin-William’s Universal Khaki, and Benjamin Moore’s Silhouette all signal a return to classic neutrals and timelessness. Here are a few options with similar tones from our collection of finishes and fabrics.

Each of these colors are great bases for homes based in minimalism, but with enough depth and dimension that you can also lean towards nature-inspired styles, like rustic farmhouse. But don’t get me wrong, the Colors of the Year also have their place within maximalist design! The beauty of a neutral color is being able to mix and match a ton of different design styles while still keeping a few core elements. Let’s see what sorts of palettes we can make using these 2026 Colors of the Year and the colors we offer at Loewen Design Studios.
Pantone’s Cloud Dancer is a great subtle color that shines with some contrast. Imagine Cloud Dancer-colored tableware on an ash table finished in Super White, sitting on steel legs powder-coated in Gunmetal, with comfortable Thunder leather seats. Or go a little bolder with a maple table finished in Linen, sitting on an ash base finished in Midnight Sky, paired with Clay fabric seats to add a little bit of texture.

Sherwin-Williams’ Universal Khaki makes for a simple but timeless anchor color, well suited for rustic styles and cozy cottages. For a warm palette, try a red oak table finished in Charcoal, sitting on a Bronze steel base alongside chairs with Hazelnut leather seats. Or lean towards the industrial side with a table from our rustic Bragg collection, finished in Smoke and on a Black steel trestle base. Add in a set of Betzner chairs with Bone fabric seats and you’re ready to go.

Finally, Benjamin Moore’s Silhouette: a rich and earthy color that will, no doubt, add some depth, dimension, and drama to your dining room. Pair it with a rustic table finished in Wheat, sitting on a Bronze steel base with Cocoa leather seats. Or use Silhouette to paint just an accent wall! Keep some lightness in the room with a maple table finished in Ash Grey, on warm Burnt Penny steel legs and medium-grey Fog leather seats.

As with any design tips and tricks, the Colors of the Year are just guidelines. If one of them is what you’ve been looking for, jump right in! But we always believe that the ‘right’ choice is the one that’s right for you. If inspiration strikes (or you just need a guiding hand) this year, pull up a chair! We’d love to work with you on your project, whatever that may be.
