How to Prepare for Your Design Call

How to Prepare for Your Design Call

So you're looking for a dining table?

You're off to a great start, you're in the right place.

Now you've booked a design call?

A terrific next step. (haven't booked your design call yet? BOOK NOW!)

If you book a call you'll get a chance to talk about your dining table with someone from our wonderful design team. Either Ted, Nick, or Josh, will chat with you about your needs, and what the right dining table is for you. We've built a lot of different dining tables, and we think about them a lot. I'm sure we can figure out the best solution for you.

Now if you have a call coming up, there are a few thing you can do to get ready.

  1. Look at the space you're planning on putting the table, and spend some time thinking about it. What size is it? What shape is it? What other things are in the space? Colors? Textures? What's nearby?
  2. Send us an email with those thoughts and maybe some pictures. Dimensions always help too. We aren't in your home, but the more we can understand your space, the better we can help.
  3. Think about how you use that space right now. What do you do? Think about what you would like to do with that space in the future? Is it all about big family meals? Quick breakfasts? Do you want to work there? Make puzzles? Play board games?
  4. Email us that too. More information is always better.
  5. The last thing you'll want to think about is how many people you want around the table. Both on regular days and special occasions. And do you want to squeeze around when you have a lot of people or do you want extra space everyday, but be comfortable with a full house?
  6. You've got this one by now. If you can send us an email with all of this information before the call, that's terrific. That will help us be as ready as possible to give you all the help you need.

There are a couple other things you can do before your call. These aren't quite as important, but they can be helpful.

  1. Get samples. We have all the different wood samples with us when we talk to you, so we can talk about the different colors. If you have them too then the conversation is a little easier.
  2. Look around on our website. If you're reading this, that's a great start. Check out your options! If you find an edge you like, write down the name of it. That'll help us talk about the same things. Same goes for any pictures of things we've done before. If you find something you like, let us know.

And if you don't have a chance to do any of these, no worries. We're really excited to talk to you, and help you get your perfect table.
