The Best Legs and Bases for Round Wood Tables

The Best Legs and Bases for Round Wood Tables

When it comes to choosing a base for your round dining table, there are a variety of options to consider. The base you choose can impact the overall style and functionality of your table, so it's important to choose wisely. In this blog, we'll explore some of the best bases for a circular table and what factors to consider when choosing the right base for your space.

Jennings Base

The Jennings base is a unique pedestal base with a plate at the bottom which is the same shape as the top of the table and a tapered post that gives a really elegant look. This is perfect for round tables because it allows lots of space for chairs and legs around the table.

Baker Base

The Baker Base is a single cross base in the same thickness as your dining table. It is a very classic look especially on a round table. It offers a lot of support around the table while also leaving a lot of space for chairs around the circle.

3 Caldwell Legs

The Caldwell legs are a chevron style steel leg. We use three of them for our round tables as it is stable and looks pretty. The angles of the three legs align perfectly around the circle. This makes a very solid base for a larger table to have room for the three legs under the table.

Como Base

The Como base is a fluted pedestal base. This is a showshopping look especially on a round table. It’s shaped to match the top of the dining table, and with the same wood finish it offers an exciting, and stable base. This, similar to the three Caldwell legs, wouldn’t be recommended for a small table.

Bistro Base

The Bistro Base is a wooden cross pedestal base. Like the jarvis this allows for a lot of room for legs and chairs. Chairs can even be easily tucked over the legs of the base. If you want, a similar base is available in steel, the Bidwell Base.

Selecting the right base for your round table is essential to create a harmonious and functional dining space. Whether you prefer a Jennings, Baker, 3 Caldwell, Como, or Bistro base each option offers its unique blend of style and functionality. Consider the size of your space, the desired aesthetic, and the number of people you plan to accommodate when choosing the perfect base for your round table. By carefully considering these factors, you can ensure a dining experience that is not only visually appealing but also comfortable and enjoyable for everyone.
