Bookmatch tables show off the incredible beauty of a tree. Because bookmatch uses 2 full slabs, you see the grain, you see the knots, you see the life the tree had. This is why it has traditionally been used for live edge tables; you get to see the beauty of the tree across the table and along the edge. It’s as natural as we can get.

The other detail worth noting about bookmatch tops is that the two slabs that are used are sister slabs from the same tree. They are laid up side by side as if you were opening the pages of a book, the two sides creating nearly mirror images of each other. So the knot in one side of the table is reflected in a knot on the other side, bringing symmetry and balance to the ‘imperfections’.

That beauty of bookmatch, for a long time, was only finished with a live edge. It wasn’t because we couldn’t cut it, but because we hadn’t thought to. In the marketplace generally, bookmatch tables have a live edge. But then we got thinking, people do seem to love the beauty and natural-ness of the bookmatch, but sometimes live edges don’t fit into a design style.

So what if we did bookmatch, still as impressive as ever, but with a clean edge? And then, a step further, what if we did it in other shapes?

And so now we’d like to present you a new take on bookmatch, not just a live edge table, but 3 wonderful tables, that all show the beauty of bookmatch, the beauty of the tree. Live edge, Rectangular, and Racetrack. All with the lovely mirror running down the length.

We’ve always been able to do this, but I guess we never thought to. Now you can have a bookmatch table for whatever setting you need it in, whatever your style is. If you want it for your kitchen, your dining room, your office, it’s all possible. It can be anything you need.
