Description
Leaning into modern farmhouse styling with its hoop back, our Foss dining chairs are designed to complement your Loewen Design Studios table. These chairs are built of solid hardwood and can be made of Walnut, Oak, and Maple in our standard finish colors.
The seats of our Foss side chairs are solid wood just like the rest of the chair. We'd be happy to share with you more details about the chairs themselves as well as the seat options.
Dining tables and kitchen tables are at the heart of every home. At Loewen Design Studios, we are committed to helping you create the gathering space that suits you best. To that end, we can customize not only your table but also your chairs. We'd love to help you figure out what your perfect space looks like. The Foss arm chairs are 19" wide, 16" deep and the seat is at 18" above the ground without the seat itself.
Important Notes:
All of our chairs are made from solid hardwood. As a natural product, each piece of wood has its own uniqueness, including variations in grain and color. For us, these properties make these tables and chairs more interesting and therefore more valuable to us. If you have any questions, please reach out. 
Details
Delivery
Getting your table and chairs to you safely is part of our commitment to you. You’ve made the investment in high quality hardwood furniture and we’ve taken the time to build and finish it just for you.
Once your table and chairs have cured and are ready to go, there are several ways that we can get it to you. Where you live is a big factor in which options are available for your delivery.
The first way we can ship is with a freight carrier. With this option we will pack your furniture in boxes. The carrier will make an appointment with you and deliver them to your driveway. You will need to bring the furniture in and assemble it. Typically you will receive your furniture within 2 weeks of shipping.
The second option is a white glove delivery service. This option is available in most metro areas of the US. With white glove delivery we blanket wrap your furniture and send it to our partner in North Carolina who then forwards it through their system. Once it arrives in the last mile hub they will make an appointment. Two people will bring your table and chairs to your home, set them up and take the packing materials away. With our white glove partner you will usually receive your furniture within 2-4 weeks of shipping.
The final option we offer is to deliver your furniture ourselves. Where possible this is our preferred option as it gives us the opportunity to meet you and reduces the number of hands involved in getting it to you. Currently we deliver to the Northeast US and Southern Ontario. We are working on adding additional destinations. With this delivery option we schedule appointments for our van and driver on a route through multiple states. This means that we need to work together to accommodate your schedule and ours. Depending on the size of your table, our driver may need help to bring the table in and to flip it over. With our own deliveries, you will usually receive your furniture within 2-4 weeks of when it is finished.
As a general note, shipping is included in the prices we quote. Each situation is really quite unique so we would be happy to chat about what delivery can look like for you, based on your table, your location, and your schedule.
Whichever delivery option you choose, you will receive furniture built specifically for you. We will build, finish and pack your table and chairs which takes 5-7 weeks. After that we arrange for shipping. If you need your furniture sooner, we may be able to expedite production or shipping. In this case, reach out to us and we’re happy to chat about your options.

Hoop back chairs like our Foss chairs have a certain farmhouse style quality to them. This makes them really inviting which is great because they are comfortable to sit in. Finished in lighter colors they lend themselves to more traditional farmhouse settings and when finished in black, they have a bit of a modern edge. Either way, this is a timeless style that pairs particularly well with farmhouse tables and trestle tables.
