Rectangle Extension
All the benefits of a rectangle without the leaves, an end extension functions exactly as a normal table, then a leaf can be added at either end. These leaves can vary in size but will typically add one place setting each to each side. The grain on the end extension leaves runs across the table, opposite the main table creating a breadboard look.
All the benefits of a square when not extended. The table splits in the middle and leaves can be added in, turning it into a rectangle shape. By default we suggest adding 2 leaves, to add about 2 place settings on either side. More leaves can be added, but we’ll want to talk about it!
This is a classic shape that offers a lot of usable space. Whether it be for putting down groceries, playing a board game, or an extra seat, rectangles are very practical.

This wood extension table works well in a range of settings and styles. With the Caldwell legs, the core table has a modern style and is a beautiful everyday table. For those times when you want to add a few more people, you can add a leaf to each end, adding room for up to 4 more guests.
This table is an end extension table which means that you add a leaf to each end. Without the leaves, the table looks and functions as a standard table which would be used as an everyday table. When the table extends you will see the rails and notice that they are not stained. This helps to keep the slides moving smoothly. With an end extension table, the grain on the core table runs lengthwise and on the leaves it runs widthwise for a breadboard effect. There may be a bit of a lip where the leaves meet the table top.

Getting your table to you safely is part of our commitment to you. You’ve made the investment in high quality hardwood furniture and we’ve taken the time to build and finish it just for you.
A full description of how we can deliver your table is available here. Essentially we can ship to you via freight carrier, with a white glove service, or with our delivery van & trailer. Which options are available for your table will depend on where you live and how quickly you need it and if you can help with delivery and assembly.
It’s worth noting that shipping, duties and tariffs are included in the prices we quote. Each situation is really quite unique so we would be happy to chat about what delivery can look like for you, based on your table, your location, and your schedule.
Whichever delivery option you choose, you will receive a table built specifically for you. We will build, finish and pack your table which takes 5-7 weeks. After that we arrange for shipping. If you need your table sooner, we may be able to expedite production or the shipping. In this case, reach out to us and we’re happy to chat about what the options could be.
The Fundy style really brings everything together, the details all compliment each other. The edge has a bevel, with an angle reflecting the Caldwell legs. The corners are square on the table top and the legs. Each detail on this table plays off the others. Even the extension, with the grain running opposite the table top, creates clean lines and strong angles.
The first extension table we ever built was a Fundy end extension table. We used to have a rule, only 2 new things at a time. But we were also getting going at the time, still pretty small. So when someone reached out with this request, we thought we’d give it a go. It was a leg we hadn’t done, an edge we hadn’t tried, and our first extension table (it really was right at the start). We do still try to keep it to 2 new things per table, but I guess it goes to show that sometimes breaking the rules is the best thing to do.
